How to use the knowledge they’ve learnt in the extra reading material to help others have a healthy diet . V Teaching time: 40 minutes VI Teaching aids: PPT, computer, and blackboard VII Teaching procedures: Steps Purposes Approach Revision Let students to be more familiar with the daily expression used in restaurant Get some Ss to make dialogues Lead in Revise what food is good for our health and get the Ss to tell whose diet is good. Ask Ss to tell whether the student in the dialogue has healthy diet or not, if necessary , choose some to answer. Reading Skill training By reading the passage, Ss can tell what a healthy diet should be. Get the Ss to read the passage in more practice and show questions on the blackboard: What are the five food groups? Why can a lack of certain kinds of food be dangerous for children? It is dangerous to eat too much of one’s favourite food. Can you give an example? How can we decide what to eat? Self-study Give the Ss time to appreciate the wonderful sentences in the passage, and try learning to use them. Get the Ss to underline the sentences or sentence
