一、定位:
input-based,本课作为泛听材料与泛读材料结合体,让学生在原有的基础上进一步拓展,加深了解树木,雨林在人类生活中的重要性,并落实到具体的保护措施,强化环保意识,与此同时,为本单元的写作积累素材。
二、教学环节设计:
Step1. Warm up
Biology question: people take in oxygen ang breath out carbon dioxide.
That’s LUNG.
Geography question: the Earth’s lung----the Amazon rainforest
Step2.The Amazon rainforest
Bainstorm:
Let Ss say anything about the Amazon rainforest.
Ask Ss some questions about the The Amazon rainforest.
Get Ss to read the questions first, listen to the tape and answer.
Get the Ss to listen to the tape again and fill the blank.
Play the tape again and ask the Ss to write down the answers (Don’t look at the text)
Ask the Ss to read the text and check if their answers are correct.
Get Ss to discuss what else do you know about the The Amazon rainforest?
Step 3. New words
Stand up and say out the meaning or speak out English.
Step 4.Language points:
(1) Let the Ss discuss with their group members and find out the language points.

(group 1 PK group 2) stand up and ask question, if the other cannot answer,he or she must sit down. Otherwise, the one who raise the question sits down.
Three minutes later, check out who still stands. Win.
Step 6: Game-stand up again(复活赛)
What can we do to protect the trees? Think of all kinds of action and say. If you can, you can stand up again. Three minute later, sum up the standers and find the winner group.
Step7. Homework
write down the action we can take to protect trees.
