To investigate diagnosis and clinical application value that examination of common bile duct stones for magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography ( MRCP) and ultrasound. Methods. Collection the data that 31 patients with common bile duct stones were confirmed by clinical operation, All of the patients were in our hospital were examined by MRCP and ultrasound, and were suspected of common bile duct stones because of examined with MRCP. Analysis the findings of ultrasound and MRCP , and the diagnosis of data for statistical analysis, comparison of two methods for diagnosis of common bile duct stones correctly. Results 31 cases of choledocholithiasis was accurately diagnosed by MRCP. MRCP clearly showed the location and shape of common bile duct stones. Of 31 cases, only 23 cases of common bile duct stones was diagnosed by ultrasound, its diagnosis accurate was 74.2%. Conclusion In the diagnosis of common bile duct stones, MRCP has a higher correct rate than ultrasound, which has important reference value to assess the exploration of common bile duct before operation..
