Unit 6 I’m watching TV. 教学目标 Knowledge aims: To learn the new words and phrases about daily life(newspaper, soup, read a newspaper, make soup, wash the dishes, listen to a CD, exercise, talk on the phone) Ability aims: To talk about what people are doing. Emotion aims: To learn more about classmates’ daily life. 学情分析 Junior One students have learnt the present progressive tense in the primary school. And they have mastered some words and expressions about this tense. They know how to describe the tense simply, but they still have difficulty in using this tense to speak well by looking at the pictures in the oral English test. Besides, they show great interest in English. 教学重难点 New words:newspaper, use, soup, wash New phrases:read a newspaper, make soup, wash the dishes, talk on the phone, listen to a CD Sentence structures: What are you doing? I’m watching TV. What is he/she doing? He/She is making soup. What are they doing? They are talking on the phone 教学过程 Step 1 Lead in Aim:To present the present progressive tense. The teacher shows a short video on the PowerPoint. T: Before our class, let’s enjoy a short video. But you have a task. Please find the verbs in the short video. Ss watch the short video. T: Can you find the verbs in the short video? What are the words? S: dancing, running, eating… T: Good. What is the difference between these words (dancedancing, eateating) ? S: Add –ing. T: Yes. Very good. Today, we are going to learn the verbs’ -ing form. Step 2 Presentation Aim: To learn the new words and phrases. Let’s learn. read/reading a newspaper T:What is he doing? S: He is reading a newspaper. make/making soup T: What is he doing? S: He is making soup. use/using the computer T: What is she doing? S: She is using the computer. wash/washing the dishes T: What is she doing? S:She is washing the dishes. listen/listening to a CD T: What is he doing? S: He is listening to a CD. clean/cleaning T: What is he doing?
