Ⅰ. Teaching aims

① Students will be able to master the following words and phrases: theater,
comfortable, seat, screen, close, ticket, quality, be close to.
② Students will be able to master the following sentence structure:s
— What’s the best movie theater?
— Town Cinema. It ’hs et closest to home. And it has the most comfortable seats.
2. Ability aims:
① Students will be able to discuss their preferences.
② Students will be able to make comparisons.
3. Emotional aims:
Ss will learn to share their preferences to each other..

Step 1 Warming up
Greet the class and introduce what to learn in this period. Tell students were going to
learn how to discuss preferences and make comparison in this unit and learn to

describe things using the superlatives with -est, the most.
Step 2 Presentation
1. T: Do you like to go to the movies?
Where do you watch movies?
What does a good movie theater need?
Present some pictures and get Ss to learn the new words and phrases in this lesson.
2. Show some sentenceson the blackboard. After that, invite some students to read
sentence by sentence and ask them to read loudly.
Call attention to comparative forms of the adjectives and the superlative forms of
the adjectives, explain the grammar in detail.
Step 3 Practice
1. Ask Ss to do 1a. And get them to talk like this: I think ? and ? are importan

2. Check the answer with the students.
Step 4 Listening
Get Ss to listen to the material and match the statements with the movie theaters in 1b.
1. Play the recording the first time. Students only listen.
2. Play the recording a second time. Have students write the name of each movie
