The in-car track has two focus points: regular traffic (for commuter and business traffic) and event traffic (Visitors to the Amsterdam ArenA area for concerts and football matches and visitors to the Amsterdam RAI for fairs). For both there are apps available aiming at reducing congestion by giving which bridgings’ the gap between traffic management and traffic information. A way to secure the collective gain in to the individual traffic information. We do that by a so called VC portal (Traffic centre portal) giving the possibility to put traffic management information in the car. With a roadside and an in-car track the Practical Trail Amsterdam aims at reducing traffic congestion by optimizing traffic flows in the Amsterdam metropolitan area. The trial is an initiative of the municipality of Amsterdam, the province of Noord-Holland, Rijkswaterstaat and the City region of Amsterdam.
