There are many kinds of foreign words in the dictionary， which are beyond the commonly-classified five categories and will be divided into eight categories. In the process of translation， the number of the syllables， the structure of the words and the meaning of the words are all naturalized by Chinese. Some of them are even influenced by Chinese dialects. Due to the influence of the Chinese characteristics， the times and the social-cultural mind， the English loanwords from the dictionary develops from transliteration to liberal translation， and the word usage proceeds from abnormality to normality and from colloquialism to elegance. E-mail：ggx529@126.com 不同的社会群体在跨文化、跨语言交际的过程中，词汇的借贷是常见的现象。一种语言中存在异语言的词语是世界语言的共性，世界上极少有语言能不受其他语言影响而保持自给自足，汉语同样也不例外。古代中国的经济文化交流主要与周边国家进行，因此，古汉语外来词主要来自周边的语言。近现代以来，随着中国与西方交流的频繁，英语词语开始进入汉语词汇系统，尤其是19世纪初到20世纪中期的一段时间，英语词语进入汉语的数量激增。 外来词这种汉语词汇中的异质成分引起了学者的广泛关注，学界也开展了多方面的研究，取得了丰硕的成果。但也有学者指出现有研究的不足，如有学者认为“现有研究在外来词的来源追溯和规范化问题上成果突出，但断代研究明显用力不够，成果偏少。”（韩淑红 166）《近现代汉语新词词源词典》（以下简称《词典》）是香港中国语言学会编纂的一部外来词词源词典，该书参考了两百余种文献，收录了5275个外来词，时间从19世纪初至20世纪中期，少部分词可追溯到明末清初。这段时间正是西学东渐、中西文化交流的频繁期，也是外
