Unit 7 What’s the matter? Period 1 section A (1a-2c) I. Teaching aims: ①知识目标: A.能够运用英语辨认身体各个部位的词汇。掌握下列单词:matter, sore, foot, neck, stomach, throat, lie, rest, cough, fever, X-ray, toothache, headache, stomachache, break, heart, have a cold, have a stomachache, have a fever, take breaks (take a break), take one’s temperature, lie down. B.核心句型预览: 1. —What’s the matter? —I have a cold. I have a stomachache. 2. —You should lie down and rest. ②能力目标:学会运用目标语言来询问和诉说病情, 熟练运用should 和shouldn’t提出建议和劝告。 ③情感目标:引导学生关注周围人的身体状况和心理感受,真诚的关心他人,并能恰如其分的表达。 II. Teaching key points Learn and master the parts of the body and the names of illness. Learn to talk about the problems by using the target languages III. Teaching difficult points Learn to talk about health problems by using the target languages. IV Teaching procedure: Step 1 Show the learning aims. Read the knowledge objects and know about it. Step 2 Learn new words and phrases. 1、 Teacher :“ Look at the pictures on the screen. Can you tell me what it is?”(Show the pictures and review the body parts) And lead the new words”stomach, neck , tooth” 2、 Look at the picture on the screen .Guess “what’s the matter with him” . Give the answer and learn new words “headache/sore throat” . 3、Teacher asks :” Look at the picture , whats the matter?” Students : “I have a headache.” Show the following pictures and learn new phrases” have a headache /toothache/ stomachache/sore throat/ sore back/sore neck” 4、Summarize the expressions of feeling sick. 常加-ache 构成的词: head tooth ear stomach 常用sore 修饰的词: throat eye leg foot 两者都可用的词:back 5、Practice :Youre the doctor. Read the words and give your diagnosis.(Let the students master the phrases ) Step 3 Listen and practice giving advice 6、Work on 1a. Before listening , Let students look at the five number characters and think about whats wrong with them . Listen and check the answer . Let students give the answer with the sentence pattern , “Sarah has a……” Pair work .Students
