According to the complicated pathogenesis, more and more PAH targeted medication were given the patients. * CTD-PAH is more complicated than IPAH. By now we consider the pathogenesis including…The most important aspect was pulmonary vasculitis, which well mimicked in MCT-induced model. * Here are pathological slides to show that MCT-induced PAH model mimicking the lesion from the patients with CTD-PAH. There are so many inflammatory cells infiltrating the pulmonary interstitial area and also the arterial wall. * Then whether this kind of novel therapy will be effective in PAH model? So we conducted this experimental study to answer the question. * Recently, TNF-blocker, etanercept has been proved effective in experimental scleroderma model. * SD rats randomized to different groups including prophylactic group of ECP which was given at very beginning together with MCT. Rats in remedial group received ECP two weeks later that MCT, when PAH was thought to be induced already.
