Teaching aims:
1. Knowledge objects:
Know, read, understand and use these words and phrases:flag, place, water, danger, Thailand and Thai, tree, sleep, save, forget, cut, kill, symbol, ivory ,over, one of, be in (great) danger, cut down, get lost, made of.
2. Ability objects:
To train the students’ reading and writing skills.
3. Moral object:
Know that animals are smart, and we should protect them and tell others to protect them, too.

Read practice and improve their writing ability.

Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Warm up and lead in.
1. Brainstorming: Talk about their favorite animals.
2. Watch one video to let them guess what animal I like best.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Show a video about elephants’ culture.
2. Fast reading
●Scan the article and choose the best title.
●Read the passage quickly and find out the topic sentence of each paragraph.
3. Careful reading
●Choose the flag of Thailand and answer 4 questions.
●Talk about the elephants’ abilities.
●Talk about the reasons why elephants are in danger and how to save them.
Step 3 Practice (listening)
Listen to the tape and fill in the mind map.
Step 4 Summary﹠Homework
1. Check what you have learned in this lesson. Let them remember “No trading, no killing.”
2. If you can, find more animals in great danger and write a passage “Let’s save…”.
