Presentation Show the students some pictures of celebrating Halloween. Help them to be familiar with some key phrases in the text. Write them down on the blackboard: dress up, wear masks, paint her face, make a pumpkin lantern, play ‘trick and treat’, give us candy as a treat, play a trick on her Step3 Pre-reading : What do you want to know about Halloween? Suppose you are Millie. What do you want Wendy to tell you about Halloween in her letter to you ? Write down 2-3 questions on the paper. Show your partners your questions.
