Teaching aims

Students are able to understand the main idea of the whole passage and some details about it.

Students can use reading strategies like skimming and scanning to find the details of this passage.

Enhance Ss ’ awareness of the importance of teamwork spiritand relationship between
parents and kids.

Teaching Procedures
Step 1 Warming up
Show students a video clip of Family“Song.” Then answer the question “Whats the video about?”
Step 2 Pre-reading
11Show the pictures of the passage, and ask students to guess the main idea according to the picture and the title.
Step3 While- reading
Task 1 Skimming( Fast-reading )
Find the main idea, circle the names, then find the male and female names in the
passage and write them down.
Task 2 Scanning( Fast-reading )
Students are asked to fill in the blanks of Jenny’s family tree.
Task 3 Intensive Reading(Careful reading)
