The thing to keep in mind is that scores are designed to rank-order risk. For example, a score of 230 does not guarantee an individual applicant will not go bad. It only means that this individual is less likely to go bad than, say, someone with a score of 210. The score is merely a reflection of the applicant’s odds of repayment. In this example, a credit score of 190 represents odds of repayment of 5:1.
