Give the students a few minutes to look at the picture on the first page of Unit 9 and discuss the following questions: 1. Have you ever been there for shopping? 2. Which is your favorite shopping location? II. Ask the students to listen to the recorder and match the pictures with the phrases in the box on page 26. III. Ask the students some questions: 1. Are you familiar with sales promotion? 2. Do you have the experience of being a salesman? 3. What’s your common reflection when someone tries to sell you something? IV. Ask the students to listen to a dialogue and choose the correct answer. Presentation of Listening I. Tell the students they are going to be trainees at a department store. Watch and study how other salesperson serves customers and what a good service is. Preview the words and expressions in the box: section, elegant, best-seller, go with. II. Ask the students to listen again and finish Exercise 3 on page 103. III. Ask the students to read the dialogue in pairs. IV. Ask the students to act out the dialogue in pairs. Listening Practice I. Help the students learn the new words and expressions by reading the script on page 104. II. Ask the students to listen and understand what situation it is. III.
