Pride and Prejudice is the representative work of Jane Austen, which was first published on 28 January 1813. It gave a vivid expression of the reactionary and traditional country life in Britain and people’s minds during 18th centuries and 19th centuries to us. The first time they met with each other, Elizabeth developed a prejudice against Darcy and put him down as no one had dared before. But then Darcy found that he was not only fascinated by Elizabeth’s physical beauty but also by her sharp intellect and witty observations, as well as the fact that she was not like any other, for example, her mother and her sister. Darcy determined to propose to Elizabeth, however unfortunately he was refused directly by Elizabeth. Deeply shaken by Elizabeth’s vehemence and accusations, Darcy wrote her a letter to tell her everything. Thinking a lot, Elizabeth felt that she might really make a mistake.
