二、Review the text
(一)Review Lesson 1: Customs at Christmas.
1. T:When is Christmas Day?
S: It’s Decmber 25th.
T:That’s right. But what about December 24th?
S: It’s Christmas Eve.
T:On Christmas Eve they can do many things. For example :They decorate the Christmas tree and the house, make delicious food and so on.
设计意图:通过对圣诞节时间的复习,拓展出有关平安夜的时间、活动,让学生能够丰富了解西方文化。
T: Now,let’s talk about Customs at Christmas.
what do you want to know ? You can ask some questions.
S1:what do they usually do?
S2:What do they usually eat?
S3: What do they usually say?
T: Yes. We can talk about customs from what to do,say and eat.
设计意图:用让学生提问问题的方式,逐步培养学生的知识概括思维以及发散思维,也是对知识的内化的过程。
T:Now,Look at question 1. “What do they say at Christmas?”
S:They say Merry Christmas.
T: What do they usually eat at Christmas?
S1: Turkeys.
T:Yes, turkey is the traditional food at Christmas. What else?
T: There are some pictures for you .Turkeys , cookies, puddings and hams are all tradiontional Christmas food.
T: What do they usually do at Christmas?
S1:The family get together. They have a big dinner. They sing Christmas songs. They get presents.
T: Yes. You have a good memory. What else do they usually do?
S2: They make Christmas cards.
S3: They decorate the Christmas tree.
S4: They put the stocking at the end of the bed.
T: Good job.Why do they put the stocking at the end of the bed?
