They still need lots of reading practice. (2) Ss are interested in music, so they have the interest in reading this article. (3) Ss have learned the new words, phrases and Introduction of this module, so they are familiar with the new words and phrases and have less obstacles in understanding. The status of this period This is the 2rd period of module3, Book 2. it consist of an reading passage and some exercises. After teaching new words, phrases and Introduction of this part, I designed this period. It aims to train the Ss’ reading ability and help them master reading skills, like guessing, predicting, skimming, scanning, etc. Besides, by reading this article, the Ss can also learn to enjoy music from home and abroad and have a positive attitude towards life. Teaching aims: Knowledge : learn new words, phrases ; learn some information about these famous composers. Ability : learn to read get specific information from an article; learn some reading skills. Emotion : learn to enjoy music from home and abroad and have a positive attitude towards life. Teaching difficult points: Learn to get specific information from an article; learn some reading skills. Teaching important points: Learn new words, phrases ; learn to get some specific information about these famous composers. Teaching aids: A multi-media classroom and other normal teaching tools Teaching methods: Group discussion method; Task based teaching method; Cooperative method. Teaching procedures: Step1 Greeting (1min) Step2 Revision(2min) Review some words to get the Ss ready to read this article. Step3 Warming up(3min) Discuss some questions and enjoy a piece of classical music to get the Ss to guess the topic.
