Overview

Thisinventionappliestosoftwareapplicationsthatautomaticallystartwiththeoperatingsystemandwait

forincomingTAPImodemcalls.Thesecommunicationapplicationswillbereferredtothroughoutthis

documentasparentApplications.

Duetounforeseensoftwareorhardwareproblems,parentApplications,occasionallyareunabletoanswer

incomingcalls,renderingthemuses.IftheparentApplicationisrunninginaremotelocation,the

situationmaybedifficultorimpossibletoremedy.ThefaulttolerantcallreceiverAgentor

tapiWatchdogsolvesthisproblembypickinguptheunansweredcallandrebootingthePC.Thisces

thePCinaknownuseablestate,allowingthenextincomingcalltobeansweredbytheparentApplication.
