OccupationalSafetyAct,1983(Act6of1983)madetheregulationscontainedin

theSchedulehereto.

SCHEDULE

Definitions

1.Intheseregulationsanywordorexpressiontowhichameaninghasbeen

assignedintheActshallhavethatmeaningand,unsthecontextotherwise

indicates-

“circuit”meansanarrangementofconductorsforthepurposeofcarrying

electricalenergy;

“conductor”meansanelectricalconductorarrangedtobeelectricallyconnected

toasourceofelectricalenergy;

“confinedspace”meansanareaasdefinedinregulation1oftheregulations

publishedbyGovernmentNoticeR1031of30May1986;

“dead”meansatoraboutzeropotentialandisolatedfromanylivesystem;

“earthed”meansconnectedtothegeneralmassofearthinsuchamanneraswill

ensureatalltimesanimmediatesafedischargeofelectricalenergy;

“electricfence”meansanelectrifiedbarrieragainstthetrespassofsor

animalswhichconsistsofoneormorebareconductors;

“electricalinstallation”meansanelectricalinstallationasdefinedinregulation1

oftheregulationspublishedbyGovernmentNoticeR2270of11October1985;

“fenceenergiser”meanselectricalmachineryarrangedsoastodeliveraperiodic

non-lethalamountofelectricalenergytoanelectricfenceconnectedtoit;

“insulated”meanscoveredwithinsulatingmaterialofsuchthicknessand

propertiesthatitwillpreventtheflowofelectricalenergyweentheobjectso
