AbstractObjective:Toexplorethemediatingeffectofclinicalcommunicationabilityofnursingstudentsbetweenhumanisticcare

abilityandprofessionalidentityduringaclinicalinternship.Methods:Aconvenientsamplingmethodwasusedtoselect320internnursing

studentsintheclinical.TheHumanisticCareAbilityScale,ClinicalCommunicationAbilityScale,andProfessionalIdentityScalewere

usedtoinvestigate.Results:Theprofessionalidentityofnursinginternswaspositivelycorrelatedwithclinicalcommunicationability(r=

0.609,P0.01)andhumanisticcareability(r=0.442,P0.01).Theclinicalcommunicationabilitywaspositivelycorrelatedwith

humanisticcareability(r=0.378,P0.01).Theindirecteffectofhumanisticcareabilityonprofessionalidentitythroughclinical

communicationabilitywas0.205,accountingfor44%ofthetotaleffect.Conclusion:Theclinicalcommunicationabilityofnursing

internsplayedamediatingrolebetweenhumanisticcareabilityandprofessionalidentity,whichcouldprovidenewideasforimprovingthe

professionalidentityofnursingstudents.
