Thestudyidentifiedfourprimarymodesoftransportationusedbytheparticipants:privatevehicles,publictransportation,cycling,andwalking.Employeeswhocommutedbyprivatevehicles,particularlythosewithlongdrivesinvolvingsignificanttrafficcongestion,reportedthehighestlevelsofstressandthelowestjobsatisfaction.Thisgroupconsistentlyscoredloweronmeasuresofoverallwell-beingcomparedtothoseusingothertransportationmethods.Conversely,individualswhocycledorwalkedtowork,despitepotentiallyfacingphysicalexertion,reportedfeelingmoreenergizedandhavingastrongersenseofcontrolovertheirday.Thementalbreakprovidedbytheexerciseandthelackofexposuretotrafficstressseemedtopositivelyinfluencetheirperceptionoftheirjobs.
