The American literary journalist William Branford Shubrick Clymer says,?“Her work is the slender thread which carried the strain of realism safely through the Romantic age from the hands of Fielding and Richardson to those of Thackeray and Trollope”.1 She insisted to build up her own creations according to the understanding of life. The settings of her novels are often put in quiet and peaceful British villages. The plots are about the middle class’ courtship and marriage in her age. Both of the plots and the scene are carefully described. Those caustic commentary and ingenious dialogue are particularly inventive. Jane Austen got the source of her novels directly from her own experience and observation. Her works attracted the local farmer, pastor as well as their wives and children deeply, because her works reflected the familiar matter to them. During her life span, Austen composed the six novels and Pride and Prejudice is her most popular novel, the initial title of which was finished in August, 1979, given the name First Impression. Till January 30, 1813, Pride and Prejudice was issued after the writer’s revision. Before May, 1813, Pride and Prejudice had become the?‘fashionable novel’, according to Anne Isabella Milbanke.2 Austen liked this novel very much, particularly the heroine named Elizabeth. She ever called the book?“my own darling child.”3 This novel is the same as her other five novels. The theme is about love and marriage among young people. But it also has its eminent characteristics in the main clue of love affairs. The author describes five marriages, which make the novel very dramatic and attractive.?
