The new curriculum content and goal have covered five aspects: the skill, the knowledge, the emotion strategies and the culture. So how to cultivate the middle school students’ interests in learning English is very important. Meanwhile, no matter what is learned, learning motivation is all essential, English study is the same. Chinese and foreign language educationists think that motive is one main actor of influencing foreign language learning. Jakobovits?(1970) thinks that the several factors of influencing foreign language study through investigation, motive accounts for 33 percent.1 If the teachers can’t stimulate students’ motive, English teaching cannot reach the anticipated result.?(Wang Duqin 2002) So, understanding and stimulating the students English learning motivation is very important in guiding English teaching too. Both of them are very important in cultivating students’ interests in learning English.2. Language Learning Strategies2.1 The Definition of Language Leaning Strategies?Language Learning Strategies are defined as?“behaviors and thoughts that a learner engages in during learning, which are intended to influence the learner’s encoding process”2. Some experts more specifically defined language learning strategies as?“behaviors of a learner that are intended to influence how the learner processes information”. The language learning strategies can be divided into two aspects: First, experts distinguish between the direct language learning strategies,?“which directly involve the subject matter”, and the indirect Language Learning Strategies, which?“do not directly involve the subject matter itself, but are essential to language learning nonetheless”.
