National Center for Smart Growth Research and Education, University of Maryland,College Park, 20742) Abstract: As an important component of urban development, urban land redevelopment will have a great impact on transportation system, but the current traffic impact analysis lacks a reasonable consideration of slow mode transportation, which is not conducive to urban transport planning and management especially in China. For a better guidance of land redevelopment and slow mode transportation planning and management, start from the analysis of the mechanism of the impact on non-motorized traffic under urban land redevelopment; use the system analysis method to organize the non-motorized traffic impact analysis process and content under redevelopment; and then put forward the corresponding evaluation indicators to analyze the impact qualitatively and quantitatively, and set up the non-motorized traffic impact analysis framework and indicator system; finally, show the process by a case study. The result indicated that some redevelopments will have a significant impact on slow mode transportation system, and a detailed analysis is needed to propose reasonable traffic organizations and improvement measures.
