Pig populations of 100 to 500 sow s were simulat ed with Mont e Carlo metho d ,and the ratio s of bo ar to sow were 1 1∶0 and 1 2∶0 . The number of pigs t e st ed p er litt er were 2 and 4 compo se d e qually of bo ar s and gilt s. The trait s select ed were average daily gain af ( ) ( ) t er weaning AD G and backfat thickne ss BF at 100 kg live weight . Bree ding pigs were select ed according to multi pletrait BLUP ,and economic weight of BF wa s set a s 25 time s of that of AD G. Aft er five generation selection ,the re sult s showed that the more the number of sow s of the bre eding population ,the higher the cumulative selection re sponse at 5th generation ,and the slower the co efficient of inbre e ding increment p er ge
