Abstract: This paper reviews the basic principles and methods of the static elastoplastic analysis (pushover analysis) in
F MA273/ 274 and in ATC40. Its main calculation procedures are summarized and a case study is presented for the
frameshearwall structure designed according to China Code for Seismic Design by means of TABS. It has been proved
that pushover analysis is a effective method of structural elastoplastic analysis under the maximum earthquake action.
