Abstract：Fieldresistanceofnineaccessionsofcommonwildrice(Oryzartlf【ipogonGriff．)andahighlysusceptiblevari
etyIR24wasevaluatedwithninestrainsofXanthomonasoryzaepv．oryzaefrom thePhilippines．Theresultshowedthat
IR24washighlysusceptibletoallofthestrainsandsixcommonwildricematerialsresistedtota1ninestrains．accountingfor
67 ofthetota1．Twomaterialsfrom Yulin，GuangxiZhuangAutonomousRegionandW anning，HainanProvincewereSHS—
ceptibletothestrainsPX028OandPX071，respectively，andamateria1from Gaozhou，GuangdongProvincewassusceptible
tothestrainsPX079，PX099andPX0339，buttheywereresistanttotheotherstrains．Itisconcluded thattherewasat
leastoneresistancegenein everymateria1．PCR detection forthepresenceofclonedresistancegeneswith thefunctional
markersforza5。xal3，X jandXa27revealedthattherewerenoza5andXn2I in allofthesematerials．Fourmaterials
containedrecessiveresistancegenexal3，whichwereal1heterozygous．Therewerefivehomozygoteswith dominantresist—
ancegenexd27and threehomozygotesharboringtherecessivegenexa27andonemateri~、withneitherxa27norx 7．
