Abstract Abstract Culture is the source of strength for national development. The development of a nation is decided by the development of the culture. However , philosophy is the basic for the development of the culture. In the long history, many people have made unremitting efforts. As a scholar and a political figure in China’s modern and contemporary history, Zhang Junmai spent lifelong energy to advance the way of our country and revive the Confucian thoughts. The thesis study Zhang’s thoughts from the philosophy basic of the revival of our culture. The thesis consists of four parts. The first part is the view of Zhang Junmai’ thought; The second part study the philosophy basic of his culture revival thoughts; In the third part, is what Zhang Junmai wants to revive and how to revive; The last one, points out the significance of Zhang’s thought of the revival of culture and the negative significance in Zhang’s thoughts of the revival of culture. Founding a modern national country is the starting point of Zhang’s ideological activity and also the highest goal he pursued. Zhang Junmai has his culture thinking: making the culture on the basis of the spiritual freedom. The culture thinking have two main defects: one is the spiritual freedom; the other is the culture of nation. Zhang’s culture thinking is the product of the times he lived in, is a kind of reflection of the class interests.
