It is important to study the characteristics of these two varieties in order to guide maize breeding and seed production of Jilin province. The advantages and disadvantages of ‘Zhengdan 958 ’and ‘Xianyu 335 ’were analyzed in the paper. The direction of maize breeding and seed production in Jilin province was also discussed.
