★7. As Winston Churchill put it, attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference. Difficulties arise in the lives of us all. The most important is how to deal with them. (态度) It is universally acknowledged that life is a long journey filled with ups and downs. We’ll encounter difficulties and obstacles in the journey. But what really counts is what attitude we choose to deal with them. Here is a story of my own. I decided to take part in a long distance running race in a sports meeting. Before the race, I had confidence to win the race. Unfortunately, during the race, each step seemed incredibly difficult. To make things worse, I fell in the last lap, breaking my knees as well as the chance of winning the race. To give up or to keep on? Without hesitation, I chose the latter and allowed myself to be optimistic, constantly encouraging myself to get close to the finishing line. In the end, I finished the race without getting a reward. However, I have been regarding this experience as a challenge rather than a shame, which serves as a reminder telling myself to be positive whatever obstacles arise.
