Traditional approaches separately and sequentially consider machine scheduling and transportation scheduling problems, without effective coordination between the two. To improve the operational performance of the whole system, it is critical to integrate these two aspects and scheduling them jointly in a coordinated way, so that it can reduce the total operations management cost. In this paper, we category the most literature relative to the coordinated scheduling of production and transportation into three classes, namely material transportation before machine production scheduling, semi-finished jobs are transferred from one machine to another for further processing, finished jobs are delivered to customs after machine production.
