The proposed quantitative parameter is used to evaluate the thermo-elasticity couplin effect. The thermo-elasticity couplin effect of several kinds of common rocks - 3 are calculated, with a result showin that usually the value of PTC is of the order of 10 . In the mean time, a preliminary discussion on the practicability and si nificance of the dimensionless parameter PTC in en ineerin application is made.
