Detoxificat ion of ch omium containing slag has been a g eat subject in the field of envi onmental p ot ection th oughout the wo ld. In the pape , the detoxification mechanisms, indust ial p ocesses, specifications and the actual eff ects of the methods, including educt ion p ocess by sodium sulfide o fe ous sulfat e, ext act ion exchange p ocess, a e summa ized comp ehensively on the basis of t he eview of hyd o based p ocesses of ch omium containing slag at home and ab oad. The p ospect of t he new technology on detoxif ica t ion of the ch omium containing slag by mic oo ganisms is also p oposed.
