A bstract: Carbon nanotubes ( CNT ) w ere mod ified by oxidation w ith sod ium hypochlorite solutions
( NaClO) and w ere employed as adsorbents to study the adsorption characteristics of copper from w ater.

The results show ed that the removing effect of the mod ified CNT for Cu is much better than that of the

asgrown ones. The adsorption for Cu reached equilibrium by about 60 m in. The pH value has much

mi pact on Cu removing. The adsorption isotherm is in accordw ith both Langmu ir and Freundlich equa
tions.
