The 913kb NA fragmentswere recovered from N ot Ñ digested fragments and microinjected into 323 fertilized eggs. The injected eggswere implanted into theoviduct of 14female mice. In the 52 offsprings, therewere 10 mice carringthetransgene identified by PCR, and the efficiencywas 1912% . The col2A1-Cre transgenicmice were crossed with a conditional gene targeting mice to check the Cre mediated recombination in multiple tis- sues. The results of the PCR analysis suggested that the Cre recombinasewas expressed only in cartilaginous tissue and could mediatethe recombination between the LoxP sites in vivo .
