Method Routine imprint, paraff in section and electron microscopy were applyed through surgical biopsy of braintu- mors. Results In 31 cases there were 7 cases of astrocytomas( 22. 6% , 9 cases of anaplastic astrocytomas( 29. 0% and 15 cases of gliblastomas( 48. 4% . Electron microscopy was of much help to conf irming the histogenesis of tumors and diagnosing the proplematic cases. Conclusion Brain tissue imprint, with the characters of quick and easy to prepare, play an important role in screening tumors. Histopathological diagnosis is of help to confirming the biological behavior and exact grade of brain neoplasms, while electron microscopy can provide some evidence for diagnosing the cases that are difficult to define with light microscopy.
