D ep ar tment of Ultr asound , Women and Childr en s H osp ital of S hen hen, Shen hen 518028, China Abst ract Object ive To investigate prenatal ultrasound diagnosis of clu foot and its clinical value . Methods T hree thousands pregants ranging gestational age from 12 through 40 w eeks w ere checked using Ascuson Sequoia 512 equipment .The diagnosis of clu foot w as made prospectively at the time of the scan y the following criteria: the all of foot had to e visi le in the same plane as the longitudinal section of ones of the low er leg, unchanging w ith fetal activity and reproduci le for several images.All prenatal ultrasonographic dignoses of clu foot w ere proved y autopsy or new orn physical examination. Results A total of 17 cases clu foot fetuses were prenatal diagnosed y ultrasonography. Fourteen of 17 clu foot fetuses had associated w ith complex a normalities, three of them were isolated clu foot. Fourteen of 17 cases w ith clu foot prenatal diagnosed y ultrasound were proved y autopsy .Another three cases with clu foot were proved y new orn physical examination, tw o of them w ere false positive diagnosis. Conclusi ons Prenatal diagnosis of clu foot is relia le y ultrasound. It is helpful in diagnosis with other structural a normalities associated w ith clu foot.
