The effects of d ifferent reaction cond itions on the yield of THPS w ere d iscussed systematically. And the optmi al reaction condi tionsw ere determ ined by orthogonal expermi ent as follow s: the ratio of yellow phosphorus, zinc powder, su lfuric acid and formaldehyde is !2. 5!7. 5!5, the reaction temperature is 85∀ , the reaction tmi e is 6 h. In order to determ ine the active matter contents in the products, a new method by ionexchange processw as established, the result show ed that the content of THPS w as 79. 20%. The productsw ere re crystallied in 36% acetic acid and needle crystalw as obtained successfully.
