Abstract: This paper describes an approach to three-dimensional slope stability analysis. It is an extension of the 2-D Spencer. s.The new method
allows the static eq ilibri m in all the three directions of the fail re mass, with an additional condition satisfying the req irement for moment eq i-
libri m. The n mber of ass mptions made for the inter-col mn forces has been red ced, compared to the other 3-D methods commonly sed.This
paper describes the res lts of some ill strative examples and applications in a n mber of engineering projects.
