AbstractTheStudyoftheCooperativelearningofVocationalEnglishTeachingTheStudyoftheCooperativelearningofVocationalEnglishTeachingAbstractEnglishteachingandlearninginvocationalschoolshasmadegreaterprogressinrecentyears.ButweshouldrealizethatthedevelopmentofourcurrentEnglishteachingcan’tmeetthedemandoftheeconomicalandsocialdevelopment.Wepaytoomuchattentiontotheteachingofknowledgeaboutlanguagewhileneglectingthetrainingofskills.Invocationalschools,mostlanguageroomsareteacher-centered.Thisapproach,however,hasseriousdrawbacksinpracticesothatstudentsarethrownintopassiverolesandtheylackopportunitiestouseandpracticethetargetlanguage.ThereforestudentslosetheirconfidenceandtheyarenotsointerestedinlearningEnglish.Allthesewillleadtostudents’reticenceintheclassroom.ThustheauthorintroducescooperativelearningtotheEnglishclassroomsofvocationalschools.Cooperativelearningasanewteachingtheoryandmodel,iswidelyappliedbymanycountriesintheworld.Itmainlyisakindofsuccessfulteachingstrategyandclasstechniquethatemphasizesthelearner-centeredclass,inwhichtheteacherplaysaroleoforganizer,instructor,monitor,participator,andassessor,studentsareorganizedingroupstouseavarietyoflearningactivitiestofulfillateachingtaskoperatively.ThepurposeofthisresearchistofindoutwhethercooperativelearningcanimprovetheoverallatmosphereoftheEnglishclassandwhethercooperativelearningcanenhancetheEnglishproficiencyofstudentsinvocationalschools.ThecooperativelearningexperimentwasconductedfromSeptember,2009toJuly,2010.Thesubjectsaresecond-yearstudentsinavocationalschool.Accordingtotheanalysis,thefindingsindicatethatcooperativelearningcanchangethetraditionalmethodofEnglishteaching.Cooperativelearningismoreeffectivethantraditionalteachingmethodindevelopingsomeaffectivefactorssuchasmotivation,interest,confidenceetc.Itcanmakestudentsfeellessanxiousandcancreateakindofrelaxedandenjoyablelearningatmosphere.Finally,theauthorputsforwardsomesuggestionsforfurtherresearchinfuture.AsIITheStudyoftheCooperativelearningofVocationalEnglis
