Sensitivityanalysisofcropgrowthmodelstomulti-temporalscale solarradiation WuWei1FanLi2LiMaofen3LiuHongbin3LiYaoqin4 1.CollegeofComputerandInformationScience,SouthwestUniversity,Chongqing400716,China; 2.ChongqingInstituteofMeteorologicalScience,Chongqing401147,China; 3.CollegeofResourcesandEnvironment,SouthwestUniversity,Chongqing400716,China; 4.AgriculturalCommissionofWanzhouDistrict,Chongqing404120,China Abstract:Therecordsofdailysolarradiation(Rs,MJ·m-2·d-1)aretheimportantinputsforcropsimulationmodels.However,for somemodelusers,Rsatlongertemporalintervalsaremoreavailablethanthatatdailyscale.Theobjectiveofthisstudywasto analyzethesensitivityofsimulatedcropgrowthandproductionusingCERES-MaizeandGROPGRO-Soybean,twowidelyused cropgrowthmodels,touncertaintyinRsatdifferenttimescales(5-day,10-day,andmonthly).Dailyradiationdata(1961-1990) fromVegetation/EcosystemModelingandAnalysisProject(VEMAP)forthestateofGeorgia,USAwereusedtocreate5-day, 10-day,andmonthlymeandailyRsdatasets.DatasetsrelatedtodailyRswereusedasbackgroundbaselines.Theoverall performanceofthemodelswasnotsignificantlyaffectedbyRsunderthestudiedtimescales.Withinlocations,thesimulateddays toanthesisandgrainyieldsfrom5-day,10-day,andmonthlyRswereclosetothatfromdailyRsformaizeandsoybeanunder rainfedandirrigatedconditions,respectively.Meanvaluesofrelativemeanbiaserror(RMBE),meanbiaserror(MBE)androot meansquareerror(RMSE)ofthesimulateddaystoanthesiswere0,0and3.5dforthetwocropsunderthestudiedscenarios, respectively.Thesimulatedyieldswereunderestimatedformaizeandoverestimatedforsoybeanusing5-day,10-day,and monthlyRsforbothrainfedandirrigatedconditions,respectively.Underrainfedandirrigatedconditions,theaverageRMBEand RMSE
