Admission Requirements for the Building Services Discipline (Normal Route) Item Description Remarks Age 25 minimum Academic (either (a), (b), (c), (d) or (e) route) (a) BEng / BSc degree in Building Services Engineering accredited by HKIE or equivalent (b) Pass of EC Part 2 examination of BSE discipline (c) BEng / BSc degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering accredited by HKIE or equivalent, plus the following top-up:- (i) 2 modules at Bachelor degree level; or (ii) 2 EC Part II BSE-oriented subjects; or (iii) A master degree in BSE discipline; or (iv) Two extra years of relevant and responsible experience (Details please refer to attached) BEng (Hons) in Fire Engineering from the University of Central Lancashire plus top-up (details please refer to Section III attached) before 1999 intake. BEng (Hons) in Fire Engineering plus MSc in Fire Engineering from the University of Central Lancashire plus top-up (details please refer to Section III attached) from 1999 intake or after. - Section 2 of M3 -Routes to Membership is relevant (Academic Requirements) - Degrees after 1.1.1992 must be from honours courses - EC Part 2 examination has been superseded by the EC Graduate Diploma examination; the latter does not contain papers sufficient for Building Services Discipline.
