一“看”究竟 　　So there’s this girl at school. I’ve had the biggest crush on her for years. The only thing that excites me about going to school―the only thing I look forward to―is knowing that I’m going to see her in class. She’s beautiful， a real looker， but she’s also smart as a whip. I really look up to her and admire her. And she’s just so nice！ She’s always taking care of the weaker students and looking after them. Everyone looks to her for advice because they know she’s always willing to help. She says she wants to be a teacher some day， and she really looks the part because she’s got small-framed glasses and wears her hair short， kind of like Michelle Pfeiffer in Dangerous Minds. She’s practically a Michelle Pfeiffer look alike！ 　　The only problem？ She’s got a boyfriend and he’s a real jerk. He’s the kind of guy who only ever looks out for number one―himself！ My friend said that maybe he was a jerk in public and really nice in private， but I told him if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck， it’s probably a duck， and that I’d trust my own judgment. The guy seems so cold and unfeeling―he looks as if butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth. And he’s always disrespecting her and looking down on her； it just makes me so mad that he’d look a gift horse in the mouth and be so ungrateful. I wish she’d take a long， hard look at him and realize how horrible he is. 　　But then guess what happened yesterday？ You’ll never believe it！ I was looking for my favourite pen and I’d been searching for a long time. I’d looked high and low， just about everywhere， but there were so many places I could have lost it that it was like looking for a needle in a haystack―hopeless！ Then， in walks my girl looking like a million bucks. I mean， she’s always pretty， but today she was gorgeous―she looked fit to kill.
