Abstract ThedistributionsofNutilizingbacteria(denitrilyingbacteriaandammonifyingbacteria)，Putilizingbacteria(organic
phosphobacteriaandinorganicphosphobacteria)andheterotrophicbacteriaintheChangfiangEstuary,andtherolesofmainenvi—
ronmentalfactorsindistributingbacteria、areexploredwithobservationsfrom twocruisesinJuneandAugust2006．Comparisons
betweenthetwoimportantperiodsofinitia1hypoxiaphase(June)anddevelopedhypoxiaphaserAugust)showdifferencesinboth
bacterialdistributionsandtheassociatedmainenvironmentalfactors．First，theprimary groupofammonifyingbacteriahaslarger
magniutdewithspatialmaximum valueinthehypoxicstationsrelatedtosedimentinAugust．Thephosphobacterialabundanceand
detectionratesinAugustaremuchlowerthanthoseinJune，butthedenitrifyingbacterialabun dancebecomesgreaterinAuug st．
However,thedifierenceofheterotrophicbacterialabundancebewt eenJuneandAugustisnotobvious．Second，mainenvironmental
factorsinfluencingbacteriavaryfrom initia1hypoxiaphasetodevelopedhypoxiaphase．TWoparameters(salinityandN03。)insuf—
facewaterandfiveenvironmentalparameters(pH，salinity,P04 ，NO3andtemperature)inbottomwaterandsurfacescdimentplay
maiorrolesinthebacteriaIabundanceinJune．whiledifferentparametercombinations(saliniytandPO4)insurfacewateranddif-
ferentparametercombinationsfDo，DoC，No一，PO4 andpH)inbottomwaterandsurfacesedimentplaymaJorrolesinAugust．
