Methods: Adopt theoretical research and clinical research methods.1.Theoretical research ：Refer to ancient works concerning TCM in order to search the mechanism and proof of headache and vertigo caused by liver and emotions. And then look up relevant information about modern medicine and investigate the relationship between psychological factors and primary hypertension. 2.Clinical research: From the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of TCM and Jinan City Hospital of TCM, through designing and applying questionnaires, collect primary hypertension cases diagnostic materials such as general state of health 、clinical manifestation and mental health conditions, and then carry out syndrome differentiation. Process the relevant date by statistics and analyze the proportion of syndromes associated with liver and emotions in primary hypertension syndromes and SDS, as well as distribution. Results: 1.Theoretical studies: QI is the link between liver and emotions. If organs QI works well, emotions can keep normal. Liver governing regulating dominates free flow and rise of Qi, and emotions become abnormal when liver fails to maintain the normal flow of QI. Meanwhile, emotions can also affect liver through QI. The clinical manifestation of the liver failing to maintain the normal flow of QI and abnormal emotions can be found in both headache and vertigo of TCM
