Analysis of teaching contents
This is the first teaching period of this unit. At the beginning of the class, the teacher can lead in the topic of the unit by showing students some pictures about foods and talking about them. Warming up is to help students how to have a balanced diet. Pre-reading contains two parts. The first part: Let students discuss the questions and the second part is that the students are asked to look at the title of the reading passage and the pictures to predict what the passage is about. The reading passage Come and Eat Here (1) introduces students to two unbalanced diets. The teacher can ask students to skim the passage and find out what different places are mentioned in the passage, and then read the passage carefully and answer questions. In order to consolidate the contents of the reading passage, students should be required to read the passage again and then retell it.
Analysis of the students
The students do not pay attention to their diets. So this class is very important for them to change their diets. But their level of this subject is not very good. So the interesting beginning is beneficial to improve their interest.
Teaching aims
Let students learn the knowledge of balanced diet and nutrition.
Develop students’ reading ability and let them learn different reading skills.
Stimulate students’ sense to form a healthy eating habit.
Important and difficult points
Let students learn more about problems with a diet, a balanced diet and nutrition.
Develop the students’ ability to get the important information quickly.
