Unit1 Building the future Language points Thoughts on the design: 本节课的主要目的是帮助学生学习课文中出现的重要词汇，通过中译英、句型转换、情景设置等方法帮助学生理解文中出现的语言现象，掌握新的语言知识。 Teaching aims: 1. Learn the language points in the passage. The gravity of the situation shocked Bob Geldof, an Irish musician, so he organized a charity concert called Live Aid to raise money for the victims of hunger in Ethiopia. gravity n. 严重性；重力；地球引力 Newton’s law of gravity 牛顿万有引力定律 e.g. I don’t think you realize the gravity of the situation. 我认为你没有意识到形势的严重性。 shock 1 v. to surprise and upset somebody e.g. I was shocked at the news that bird flu had been found in our city. 2 n. a bad feeling as a result of something unpleasant happening unexpectedly e.g. He got a shock when he touched the water. She said the scary movie gave her the shock of her life. 2.
