ABSTRACT Wjth the rapid growth of leisure and income of CIlinese people in recent years，the rural tourism of China have been flourishing and plays a large leading role in the positive promotion for the abundance of city residents leisure time，leisure space and leisure consumption．As for the research for rural tourism， there has been a great deal of theory and demonstration at academic circle of home and abroad，from the concept，the classification，function to the present condition， thus jt shows diverse values．and provides diverse visual of the study of the rural tourism from the difierent study and stand． Among various forms of rural tourism，the“Nongjiale’’(Happy farmer)in Chengdu is representative one，involving experiences of rural scenery，relaxation and satisfaction of body and mind，which have the obviously 1eisure characteristic． Commenced from the related theories of leisure and taral tourism．this paper reviews overall development of the rural tourism from leisure time．1eisure space and leisure consumption，and combines actual circumstance of Sangsheng(three saint)Village in Jinjiang District of Chengdu to elaborate its present condition，put forward some measures，and provide a new angle of view for the establishment of theories of the rura】tourism．The full text iS divided into four chapters： Chapter 1：Briefly introduces the textual research background．the creation and developments of the Chinese and Foreign rural tourism．the present condition of the rnraI tourism research and concerning research of the leisure theories and the method． Chapter 2：Discuss the rural tourism respectively from the 1eisure time and space．First．the paper describe the jnfluence of rural tourism to 10cal residents from the concept and characteristics of leisure time．Then．it discuss the Iack of urban public leisure space and mutual influence between the leisure space and rural tourism from the related concept of leisure space．in which the urban design and urbanization theories was creatively
