大学核心英语1unit_10
Para 9 And the sky? The sky is just outer space-unlike Earth, the moon has no atmosphere. Para 10 “ Space is black,” Duke said. “ And even though the sun is shining on you, you look up into a black sky…It’s a vivid black. You feel like you could reach out and touch it.” Para 11 A “ day” on the moon is two Earth weeks long. The astronauts were on the moon for three Earth days, during the early morning of the moon day. And right overhead, the whole time they were there, was the Earth. The temperature varied from about 85?F to 235?F during their stay. Para 12 It was very different from Earth, but they didn’t feel like strangers. Para 13 “ I felt right at home on the moon,” Charles Duke told us. Para 14 In fact, Duke brought a bit of home with him: a photograph of his wife, children and dog. He placed the photo on the moon’s surface and took a picture of it. Then, within two hours, the strong heat shriveled up the photo. Para 14 Sleeping, too, causes interesting problems. The astronauts worked for 16 hours, and then were supposed to sleep for eight hours. Para 15 Now, on Earth, if you fall asleep in a chair, your head falls forward onto your chest. You can feel your chin resting on your chest (or your head resting on a pillow if you’re in bed). But in zero gravity, according to Duke, “ nothing happened to your head.” It just stayed up. Para 16 “ And I ended up having to wedge my head up into the side of the spacecraft to get some feeling on my head. Well, by the morning, I had floated out from under there and I was floating free.” 8. How is sleeping in zero gravity different from sleeping in gravity? the side of the space craft chair head staying up head falling forward onto your chest head wedged in the side of the spacecraft chin on your chest or a pillow morning floating free morning still there zero gravity gravity Style of narration (叙述文) Introduction Blast off Cosmic flashes Main idea: The mission of Apollo 16 to the Moon Footprints TV Star
