The Andover facility is equipped with two deceleration sleds, the larger of which incorporates a decelerator capable of simulating a pulse of up to 80g – well beyond the 20 to 28g pulse corridor legislated at European standards level that equates to a 50kph impact. Further, Britax has the capability to do full body in white testing using this sled, which is also used for the company’s testing work for the aircraft and helicopter seating business.
